Job summary
A leading sustainability consultancy is seeking an entry-level Field Architectural Historian to conduct field surveys and assist in evaluating historic properties. The ideal candidate will have a background in architectural history, strong knowledge of architectural styles, and be able to work in varying weather conditions. This is a full-time, limited-term position based in the United States, offering a salary range of $45,760.00 – $49,920.00 and a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications
Recent graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience in survey and evaluation of historic architectural resources.
Ability to travel frequently and on short notice.
Responsibilities
Planning, developing, and performing surveys of above-ground historic properties.
Documenting and photographing buildings, structures, and other historic properties.
Preparing appropriate sections of cultural resources reports.
Skills
Knowledge of architectural styles and materials
Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Experience with photo documentation of structures
Education
B.A. in architectural history, historic preservation, or related field
