Job summary

A leading sustainability consultancy is seeking an entry-level Field Architectural Historian for a full-time role based in the United States. The position involves conducting field survey work, documenting historic properties, and preparing reports. Candidates should hold a B.A. in architectural history or a related field with up to 2 years of experience. The role offers a base pay between $45,760 and $49,920 with a limited benefits package.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate to 2 years of relevant experience in survey and evaluation of historic architectural resources.
• Understanding of visual APE and permitting standards.
• Ability to travel frequently and on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Planning, developing, and performing surveys of above-ground historic properties.
• Documenting and photographing buildings and other historic properties.
• Preparing cultural resources reports describing the survey and analysis.

Skills

Knowledge of architectural styles and materials

Ability to work outdoors

Comfortable talking to members of the public

Experience with photo documentation

Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Education

B.A. in architectural history, historic preservation
