Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Architectural Historian Technician to provide as-needed support on a project basis, performing fieldwork, photography, and data collection for diverse assignments across Texas and surrounding regions.

This entry-level, temporary position requires outdoor work in remote locations, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to travel as needed. The role supports Section 106/NEPA projects and historic preservation efforts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing to travel to meet project needs.
• Requires valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform fieldwork tasks including photographing resources and using mobile tablet for data collection.
• May conduct archival research online and at libraries and repositories.
• Contribute to inventory forms and technical reports.
• Support consultation with state, federal, and local agencies.
• Additional duties may include support for National Register of Historic Places nominations, preservation plans, historic structure reports, and other types of special projects.
