Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks Cultural Resources Technicians to support fieldwork across the Southeast, assisting crew chiefs and field directors on diverse projects in generation/renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, and land development.

This temporary field-based role offers at least 40 hours per week, with travel up to 100% and potential for advancement within SWCA. Applicants should be prepared for long days, demanding conditions, and strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Accredited Field School Certification.
• Ability to travel, walk, and conduct fieldwork for long hours in varying weather.
• Ability to carry equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a 4wd vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete archaeological surveying and field testing.
• Conduct shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Execute data recovery and associated field recording.
• Complete field forms, digital photography, and in-field mapping.
• Assist with archaeological office and lab work.
• Participate in GPS data collection in the field under supervision.
• Adhere to safety program and mitigate hazards.
