Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking Cultural Resources Technicians to support field-based cultural resource management in the Southeast. The role involves surveying, testing, and data collection across multiple projects with extensive travel up to 100% and a temporary assignment through February 2027.

Expect 40 hours per week, with possible extended schedules.POSITIONS offer per diem, lodging options, and advancement within SWCA.

Qualifications

• Accredited Field School Certification is required.
• Ability to travel to field sites and conduct long hours of fieldwork in varying conditions.
• Ability to carry equipment up to 40 pounds and operate a 4WD vehicle safely.
• Current valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete archaeological surveying and field testing.
• Conduct shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Execute data recovery and associated field recording.
• Complete field forms, digital photography, and in-field mapping.
• Assist with archaeological office and lab work.
• Participate in GPS data collection under supervision.
• Adhere to safety program and mitigate hazards.
