Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks Cultural Resources Technician to join the Flagstaff, AZ office for a temporary, hourly field assignment across Arizona.

The six-month assignment may extend based on project needs; candidates should have a high school diploma and a valid driver's license, with the ability to carry loads and travel.

This role involves field surveys, artifact identification, data collection, and coordination with field supervisors; apply promptly as rolling reviews begin.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of relevant experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background screening, and have access to reliable transportation.
• Able to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; available for fieldwork and extended travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with archaeological fieldwork including pedestrian survey and site recording.
• Conduct fieldwork in long hours across diverse environments and extreme weather.
• Accurately identify historic and prehistoric artifacts and features.
• Assist with cultural resource records searches, laboratory analysis, and related office tasks.
• Work independently in a responsible manner and follow field supervisor directions.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a field team and adhere to safety protocols.
• Promptly communicate and mitigate safety hazards as part of the safety program.
