Job summary

UES seeks an Archaeological Field Technician to support CRM projects through fieldwork and laboratory tasks. Under supervision, you will assist Phase I surveys, artifact recovery, and documentation, contributing to data collection and analysis that informs cultural resource compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 6–12 months of CRM field experience.
• Basic proficiency with digital field data collection systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% for project sites and fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shovel testing and pedestrian survey for Phase I surveys.
• Identify artifacts, features, and site boundaries during surveys.
• Record field data, notes, and site forms in digital systems.
• Perform cursory artifact analysis and documentation.
• Bag, label, and catalog recovered artifacts for lab processing.
• Assist with site mapping, GPS navigation, and data collection.
