Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. is seeking an Archaeological Excavation Specialist for our Phoenix and Tucson offices. The role focuses on testing, data recovery, and field supervision within central and southern Arizona.

Ideal candidates will hold a related Bachelor's degree, field school completion, and CRM experience, with willingness to relocate to the Phoenix/Tucson metro areas and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or closely related field; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Completion of an academically sponsored field school.
• At least 1 year of Cultural Resource Management experience; 6 months data recovery excavation at prehistoric sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork, primarily excavation (testing and data recovery).
• Complete accurate standard field forms and site maps.
• Participate in artifact processing and data entry.
• Use field tools (tablet, compass, trowel, shovel) and travel as required.
• Assist with lab work and preparation of technical reports.
