Job summary

Terracon in Fort Worth, TX seeks an Archaeology professional to provide fieldwork, artifact identification, and laboratory analysis across diverse projects. You will prepare reports, write proposals, and advise clients while ensuring safety and quality across the team.

The role involves supervising field crews, potentially serving as PI on survey projects, and conducting archival work and documentation to support project deliverables. A graduate degree and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field (MA, MS, PhD) and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Familiar with the cultural history of the region.
  • SOI qualification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning.
  • Understand and practice quality acumen.
  • Support consistent quality standards on proposals and project delivery.
  • Conduct fieldwork and write small to medium sized, relatively uncomplicated reports.
  • Manage a field crew and ensure fieldwork meets high standards.
  • May serve as Principal Investigator (PI) on survey and testing projects.
  • Conduct archival research or field documentation and ensure proper data collection.
  • Identify artifacts and recognize features/stratigraphy.
