Qualifications
At least 6 months of experience in conducting archaeological survey and excavation.
Knowledge of prehistoric and historic material culture.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in remote areas.
Responsibilities
Conduct archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
Perform controlled surface survey, shovel test survey, and excavation.
Clean, catalog, photograph, and label artifacts from excavations.
Skills
Experience with inventory, survey, testing, and/or data recovery
Mapping equipment and special application equipment knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Detail oriented, resourceful, self-motivated
Positive and energetic attitude
Education
B.A./B.S. in anthropology/archaeology or related field
Successful completion of an archaeology field school
