Job summary

Rincon Consultants seeks an Archaeological Field Technician to support cultural resource investigations across diverse projects in California. You will conduct surveys, monitoring, site recording, and field evaluations under senior staff guidance.

Responsibilities include collecting field data, preparing forms and maps, and coordinating with managers, clients, and tribal representatives. Travel and outdoor work are required, with potential lab support and post-field processing as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • One year of professional archaeological experience, or a Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Ability to work independently in field assignments and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct archaeological surveys, monitoring, site recording, and field evaluations under supervision.
  • Collect and document field data ensuring accuracy and project standards.
  • Prepare field forms, site records, maps, photos, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field leadership, clients, tribal representatives, and team members.
  • Support laboratory work and post-field processing as needed.
  • Contribute to safe and efficient field operations while upholding Rincon's quality standards.
  • Complete other duties to support project delivery.
