Job summary

Dudek is seeking an As-Needed Arborist in the Urban Forestry practice in Southern California. The role requires extensive fieldwork, data collection, and travel across Southern California and surrounding regions.

You will inventory trees, assess health and risks, and support urban forest planning efforts with GIS tools. The ideal candidate has two years of urban forestry field experience, ISA Arborist certification, and familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, and Collector.

Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist credential required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in tree inventories/assessments or urban forestry fieldwork.
• Experience with GIS-based field data collection tools, GPS and inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree inventories on city streets, parks, and other urban areas.
• Record data: species, DSH, canopy, height, health and structure.
• Assess health, maintenance needs and risk conditions.
• Ensure data quality and consistency with standards.
• Follow safety procedures near roadways and active sites.
• Perform other arboricultural duties as assigned.
