Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an ISA Certified Arborist to conduct field inventories and assessments across Southern California. You will accurately record species, DSH, canopy spread, height, health, and structural conditions using GIS data collection tools.

Travel throughout Southern California is required. The role emphasizes data quality, safety near roads, and working independently in diverse urban and desert environments.

Qualifications

• BS in forestry or related field or formal arboriculture/urban tree management training.
• ISA Certified Arborist is preferred.
• Experience with GIS-based data collection is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree inventories and assessments across city streets, parks, and natural areas.
• Record species, DSH, canopy spread, height, health and structural conditions using GIS data collection tools.
• Evaluate tree health, maintenance needs, structural defects and potential risk conditions.
• Ensure data quality and consistency with project standards and industry norms.
• Adhere to safety procedures near roadways, construction sites, and remote field locations.
• Travel throughout Southern California and surrounding regions to complete fieldwork.
• Work independently under varying environmental conditions on project-dependent schedules.
