Job summary

CalAmp is seeking a field-facing technical leadership professional in Carlsbad, CA to partner with customers, sales, product and engineering teams to deliver expert guidance, support solution adoption, and help ensure successful outcomes throughout the customer journey.

This role focuses on pre-sales and post-sales support, product demonstrations, training, and collaboration across functions to improve the overall customer experience and drive opportunities for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Five or more years of field applications, technical sales support, customer engineering, or related customer-facing technical role.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting product demonstrations, implementations, or technical evaluations.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel as required to support customer and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, helping them evaluate, implement, and optimize solutions.
• Work closely with sales teams to understand customer requirements and present technical capabilities effectively.
• Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and guidance tailored to customer needs.
• Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and escalation management with internal teams.
• Gather customer feedback and communicate insights to product management, engineering, and leadership.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted technical advisor.
• Collaborate on training materials, application notes, and other technical resources to support customer success.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
• Lead, coach, and support field applications team members to achieve performance goals.
• Contribute to cross-functional process improvements and product readiness.
