Job summary

ITT Inc. in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to work with the sales team and customer engineers to specify products and technical solutions for new design applications.

You will lead solution development, coordinate with internal teams, and provide design solutions, models, and prototypes as the primary engineering contact. The FAE will report to the New Product Development Engineering Manager and the Director of Product Management, supporting design wins and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or 10+ years connector design in lieu).
• 5+ years of related industry experience, connector design.
• 5+ years in field application/product management/technical sales within connector industry.
• Strong understanding of connector, cable and system design/manufacturing.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Provide product and technical solutions capability presentations to customers.
• Conduct technical product training to customer engineers.
• Primary point of contact between customer engineering and internal cross functional team.
• Coordinate activities with Sales, Engineering, Product Management and Operations.
• Build relationships with customer technical community and identify design requirements.
• Develop and present technical solutions to capture new design wins.
• Provide on-site support to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with product design engineering on custom solutions.
