Clarapath, a medical robotics company, seeks a Field Application Specialist to support SectionStar and TrimStar Pro systems at customer sites across the continental United States. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Histology, Biology, Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • HT or HTL certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in histology, pathology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of histology workflows and lab equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation, installation, and adoption at customer sites.
  • Provide hands-on application and technical support to customers before, during, and after implementation.

Role Summary:

The Field Application Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing use of Clarapath’s SectionStar℠ and TrimStar Pro℠ systems. Working closely with customers and internal Engineering, Research & Development, Product, and Service teams, this individual will provide hands‑on application support, conduct product demonstrations and customer training, troubleshoot workflow and technical issues, and help ensure the successful integration of Clarapath’s technology into laboratory environments. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, communicates effectively with a variety of stakeholders, and is eager to apply their technical and histology expertise to help advance innovative technology for the pathology and laboratory industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation, installation, and adoption of Clarapath’s SectionStar℠ and TrimStar Pro℠ systems at customer sites
  • Provide hands‑on application and technical support to customers before, during, and after implementation
  • Conduct product demonstrations and customer training on system operation, laboratory workflows, and best practices
  • Develop strong working relationships with histotechnicians, pathologists, laboratory managers, and other customer stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot workflow, application, specimen, and product‑related issues and work collaboratively to identify effective solutions
  • Evaluate customer workflows and provide guidance to help customers successfully integrate Clarapath technology into their laboratory environments
  • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Product, Manufacturing, and Service teams to resolve customer issues and improve product performance
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback regarding product functionality, usability, workflow integration, and overall customer experience
  • Document customer interactions, technical issues, observations, and resolutions accurately and consistently
  • Assist with product testing, validation, and evaluation activities as needed
  • Support the development and refinement of training materials, application guides, standard operating procedures, and other customer‑facing documentation
  • Identify recurring customer challenges and communicate opportunities for product and process improvements
  • Support pre‑sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical discussions, and application‑related customer meetings
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, laboratories, and other locations as required
  • Represent Clarapath professionally when interacting with customers, partners, and industry professionals
  • Support additional field application and customer success activities as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Histology, Biology, Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field preferred
  • HT or HTL certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in histology, pathology, laboratory applications, technical support, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of histology workflows, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation
  • Experience working with laboratory equipment and troubleshooting technical or workflow‑related issues
  • Experience providing training, technical support, or customer assistance preferred
  • Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and evolving environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the continental United States
  • Prior experience as a Field Application Specialist, Applications Specialist, Clinical Application Specialist, or similar customer‑facing technical role, a plus
  • Experience supporting laboratory automation, medical devices, pathology systems, or other laboratory technologies, a plus
  • Experience working with automated tissue sectioning or histology equipment, a plus
  • Experience supporting product testing, validation, or implementation, a plus
  • Familiarity with regulated laboratory or medical device environments, a plus
  • Experience delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, or customer training, a plus
  • Ability to translate laboratory needs into practical technical and application solutions, a plus
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel regularly to customer sites and other business locations throughout the continental United States
  • Ability to work in laboratory and clinical environments while following applicable safety requirements
  • Ability to operate and demonstrate technical equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during customer training, demonstrations, and laboratory activities
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment, supplies, and materials in accordance with applicable safety guidelines
