Job summary

MSD in the United States seeks a scientist to provide comprehensive scientific consultation to account management, train customers on instrumentation and data analysis, and assist in developing new assays in a multidisciplinary setting.

The position requires a Ph.D. in Life Sciences (or Master/Bachelor with equivalent experience) and a minimum of three years’ hands-on molecular biology or biochemistry work; travel of up to 30-50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences or related area required; Master’s or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in molecular biology, clinical, discovery, or biochemistry lab settings.

Responsibilities

• Educate, train and support customers on MSD instrumentation and data analysis.
• Assist customers with assay troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Support customers developing their own assays on the MSD platform across diverse fields.
• Present internal scientific seminars to sales, FAS and management teams.
• Document activities and customer interactions in the CRM system (SalesForce.com).
