Location: US East Coast (Field-based / Remote with regional travel; hubs: Boston/Cambridge, MA; NJ; PA; MD)

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Mid-to-Senior Level (3–5+ years of relevant experience)

Position Overview & Highlights

  • At the Forefront of Cell Therapy: Focus on the cutting-edge CAR-T and cell & gene therapy (CGT) sector, acting as a trusted technical advisor directly engaging with innovative biopharma companies, biotech startups, and leading CROs/CDMOs.
  • Dual Career Trajectory (Technical + Commercial): Bridge deep scientific expertise with commercial strategy, playing a key role in product iteration, application development, and portfolio expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Technical Support: Provide comprehensive, workflow-level flow cytometry technical consultation to CAR-T and cell therapy clients, including experimental design, multi-color panel design, high-dimensional data analysis, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Customized Assay Development: Design, optimize, and validate custom flow cytometry protocols tailored to client‑specific cell models, unique sample matrices, and therapeutic targets.
  • Regulatory & Method Validation Guidance: Assist clients in navigating regulatory standards (e.g., USP, Ph. Eur., ICH guidelines); support the development, qualification, and validation of compliant analytical methods for QC release, characterization, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) monitoring.
  • Training & Voice of Customer (VoC): Organize and deliver technical seminars, demonstrations, and hands‑on workshops for both clients and internal commercial teams; gather actionable market feedback and customer requirements to guide R&D pipeline priorities and product improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales and Business Development teams to identify client needs and accelerate technical adoption, while completing other assigned scientific and commercial initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline (Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of extensive industry experience will also be considered).
  • Flow Cytometry Proficiency: Robust, hands‑on foundation in flow cytometry with proven ability to independently design experiments, optimize staining protocols, and interpret complex data; proficiency with mainstream cytometers (e.g., BD FACSCanto/Fortessa/Symphony, Beckman CytoFLEX) and analysis software (e.g., FlowJo).
  • Industry Background: 3+ years of experience within CAR-T, cell therapy, biopharma, or CRO/CDMO environments; solid understanding of assay and analytical needs across early discovery, pre‑clinical research, process development (PD), QC release testing, and clinical monitoring.
  • Analytical Standards: Familiarity with analytical method validation principles, pharmacopeial standards (USP/ICH), and GMP/QC testing workflows.
  • Communication & Travel: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; strong customer‑service mindset; willingness to travel within the East Coast region as needed (approx. 20–30%).
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer‑sponsored visa support at the time of hire. CytoArt may consider future immigration sponsorship based on business needs and company capabilities, but sponsorship cannot be guaranteed

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)

  • Hands‑on experience with in vivo CAR‑T platforms or next‑generation cell therapy modalities.
  • Demonstrated track record in high‑parameter/multi‑color panel design (e.g., 10+ colors) or commercial flow cytometry reagent development/support.
  • Familiarity with nano‑flow cytometry (NanoFCM) and characterization of viral vectors (AAV, Lentivirus), lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), or extracellular vesicles/exosomes.
