Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas seeks a Thermal Engineer (Field Application Engineer) to support product adoption and sales conversion from NPI to mass production. You will define specifications and deliver thermal solutions aligned with customer needs.

You will engage with customers and Delta teams to analyze designs, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with Asia-based design and manufacturing groups to implement effective cooling solutions for data centers and telecom environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead meetings with customers and Delta engineering teams to discuss specifications and challenges.
  • Analyze customer and OEM designs to propose thermal solutions early in development.
  • Provide technical support on applications, specifications, and quality.
  • Serve as liaison between customers, Delta U.S., and global engineering teams.
  • Support sales teams with product knowledge and guidance.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams in Asia to implement solutions.
  • Communicate market trends and technology insights to product teams.
  • Engage with customer product teams to understand requirements and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

The Thermal Engineer (Field Application Engineer) collaborates with internal teams, partners, and customers to support successful product adoption and sales conversion. This role spans from new product introduction (NPI) through mass production (MP), helping define product specifications and delivering thermal management solutions aligned with customer requirements.

Customer & Technical Engagement
  • Lead meetings with customers and Delta engineering teams to discuss specifications, applications, and technical challenges
  • Analyze customer and OEM system designs to recommend appropriate thermal solutions early in the development cycle
  • Provide technical support on applications, specifications, and quality-related matters
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers, Delta U.S., and global engineering teams
  • Support sales teams and channel partners with product knowledge and application guidance
Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with design and manufacturing teams in Asia to develop and implement thermal management solutions
  • Gather and communicate market trends and technology insights to product teams
External Collaboration
  • Engage with customer product development teams to understand system requirements, design direction, and delivery timelines
  • Provide technical expertise on thermal solutions, including fans, heat sinks, and liquid cooling systems
Market & Product Support
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new product opportunities, emerging technologies, and industry trends

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
  • 3–5 years of experience in thermal design or applications engineering
  • Strong understanding of rack-level and data center cooling solutions
  • Familiarity with telecom and IT industry applications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • In-depth knowledge of thermal management solutions, including:
  • Ability to deploy, commission, and test thermal solutions in customer labs or data center environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in power electronics engineering or EE
  • Military Experience in Electronics or Avionics with 8 years
  • Experience with power supply technical discipline with 8 years
