SUMMARY:

The Sales Engineer is a supportive role working in a specific region, collaborating directly and indirectly with Territory Development Representatives and Regional Sales Managers to grow design-in revenue. The incumbent should be well-organized, customer-focused, and technical, providing technical advice, knowledge, and support throughout the design cycle to secure a position on the customer’s approved vendor list. Success is measured by design confirmations and revenue. The Sales Engineer must work collaboratively with management, engineering, sales, product management, and production teams to deliver creative solutions and product expertise. This position requires influence and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external customers, manufacturers, and representatives.

*This is a fully remote position covering the Eastern US and parts of Canada*

*Previous experience selling connectors, electronic components, and/or cable assemblies is highly preferred*

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • BA/BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum five years of successful professional selling experience with technical products in a B2B environment
  • Experience in electronic component sales preferred
  • Experience in a multi-asset team selling environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in computer skills including CRM, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

ESSENTIAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop sales strategies for targeted markets and key customers in your region
  • Maintain industry knowledge relevant to your customer base
  • Collaborate on design solutions to increase revenue
  • Optimize territory plans to boost productivity and sales
  • Increase design opportunities with PEI products
  • Build trusted relationships with key customers and become their primary resource for connectivity solutions
  • Conduct seminars and promotional events in your region
  • Establish relationships with manufacturer reps and partners
  • Promote PEI’s vision and values to foster teamwork and customer focus
  • Achieve budget targets and develop a high-potential customer portfolio
  • Work closely with internal teams and participate in budgeting
  • Enhance product knowledge through internal and external resources
  • Engage with OEM engineering departments to grow cable assembly and design-in business
