Job summary

AgroLiquid in Michigan offers an agronomy-focused internship providing hands-on experience with field crops, soil science, and crop health. The role involves outdoor farm work, data collection, scouting, fertility and pest management, and presenting findings at the end of the program.

Interns will assist researchers, learn about marketing and agronomic considerations, and develop practical skills in stand counts, record keeping, and field trial observations while supporting the NCRS projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an agriculture-related field of study at a higher education institution.
• Willingness and ability for public speaking.
• Experience in farming and other areas of agriculture preferred.
• Desire to learn more about agronomic principles, sales and marketing.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Program span of 15 weeks participating in agricultural situations designed to create knowledge for future employment in the agriculture industry.
• Participate in projects and labor for the North Central Research Station (NCRS).
• Exposure to various aspects of ag business throughout the company, including but not limited to: Marketing, Sales, Agronomic Sciences, and Operations.
• Conduct scientific field research on various crops and soil chemistry and physiology.
• Collect and analyze data, learn about various technology for tracking, measuring and recordkeeping.
• Experience how to utilize field research as it pertains to selling and marketing products.
• Conduct field scouting for deficiencies, weeds, pests, and disease.
• Understand importance of soil and tissue testing and learn how to make effective recommendations for all nutrient requirements to correct deficiencies.
• Create a 30-minute presentation and poster project recapping the internship experience to an AgroLiquid group at the completion of the program.
