KCI Telecommunications is seeking a Lead Access Control / Security Systems Technician to lead a crew on site in the Charleston, SC market. You will install access control, security cameras, and low-voltage cabling, while mentoring junior technicians to stay on schedule and maintain quality.

You’ll read project drawings, coordinate with the Foreman and PM, and ensure safety and neat installations across indoor and outdoor job sites. travel within the Charleston region is required.

Qualifications

• 3 5+ years of relevant low-voltage, access control, security, or structured cabling experience
• Prior experience as a lead, or leading or mentoring other technicians, strongly preferred
• Hands-on security camera and door access installation experience required
• Structured cabling experience is a plus
• Strong ability to read and interpret project drawings and installation plans
• Ability to use standard hand and power tools associated with low-voltage installation
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Charleston region
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to work primarily first shift, with flexibility when project schedules require it

Responsabilités

• Pull, route, dress, and terminate cabling
• Support inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) installations
• Assist with physical security and perimeter security system installations
• Perform camera aiming and adjustments as required
• Quality-check installs, terminations, and camera aiming before handoff
• Read and follow project drawings, installation plans, and site requirements, and walk the crew through them
• Mentor and support developing technicians in the field
• Communicate progress, issues, and material needs to the Foreman and PM
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and model safe work practices for the crew

Lead Access Control / Security Systems Technician

Job Overview

KCI Telecommunications is seeking Lead Access Control / Security Systems Technicians to support ongoing and upcoming projects in the Charleston, SC market.

We're looking for experienced technicians who can lead a crew on-site while staying hands-on with installing access control systems, security cameras, and low-voltage cabling. Leads work under the Foreman to keep crews productive, installs accurate, and projects on schedule.

Experience programming or configuring security systems is a strong plus.

Tools & PPE

Technicians should bring their own basic low-voltage hand tools and tool bag. Larger equipment and specialty tools will be available on-site as required.

Safety & Screening Requirements

Additional site-specific PPE will be provided as required.

• OSHA 10 certification preferred (not currently required for the Charleston market)
• Must be able to successfully complete a 10-year background check
• Must be able to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screening

Travel

Most project work will be within about 1 to 1.5 hours of the Charleston area. Mileage is paid for travel over 60 miles one-way, and hotel accommodations are considered for drives of 2+ hours.
