Job summary

Domtar is seeking a Process Engineer in Plymouth, North Carolina, to lead fiberline improvements for cost reduction, quality, and safety. You will provide hands-on support to operators, analyze data, and drive process optimization while guiding co-ops and interns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, or related STEM.
• 0-3 years pulp and paper industry experience, including co-op/internship in fiberline/bleach plant.
• Working knowledge of fiberline safety and environmental considerations (PSM).
• Demonstrated analytical ability and initiative in identifying/troubleshooting process issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support to operators and shift leaders in the fiberline.
• Help reduce variability and uphold high product quality across the fiberline.
• Analyze process data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and evaluate fiberline trials for cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Develop FEL1 project concepts and hand off to Capital Project Engineering.
