Job summary

McCLARIN Composites is seeking a Fiberglass Chop Gun Operator for our Hanover, PA plant. The role focuses on preparing and applying fiberglass materials to create high-quality composite products, with responsibilities including mold preparation, layup work, and gun maintenance.

Candidates should have at least 1 year in fiberglass manufacturing and be capable of reading blueprints. English language proficiency is required, and the work involves lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for 8 hours daily

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in fiberglass manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, decimals, and fractions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and instruct team members.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls parts and prepares molds for the layup process.
  • Applies fiberglass and/or gelcoat to products, following job-specific spray patterns to ensure even coating within tolerance specifications.
  • Maintains, cleans chop/gel gun.
  • Makes gun adjustments to ensure proper spray ratios according to product specifications.
  • Follow start-up, shut-down, and preventive maintenance procedures, completing any associated forms or checklists.
  • Inspects product during and after application process, ensuring proper thickness and completing any associated forms/checklists.
