McCall-Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. seeks a full-time Fiber Construction Underground Foreman to lead, supervise, and coordinate underground fiber optic construction activities across multiple locations with travel; Orangeburg, SC is the main office.

The role involves directing trenching, conduit installation, directional boring, and restoration, while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of fiber optics.
• Project management experience.
• Prior experience in fiber design, construction, inspection, splicing, testing and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise underground fiber construction crews and subcontractors.
• Coordinate directional boring, trenching, plowing, and conduit installation activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
• Read and interpret utility maps, construction drawings, and fiber network designs.
• Manage daily schedules, workforce assignments, and project resources.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and budget performance.
• Coordinate utility locates and ensure protection of existing underground facilities.
• Conduct safety meetings and field inspections.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and as-built records.
• Troubleshoot field issues and communicate progress to project management.
