Job summary

TEKsystems seeks Cable Technicians to support fiber validation, auditing, and troubleshooting activities from its New Albany, Ohio site. This contract-to-hire role is fully onsite with standard hours Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, and a rotating on-call schedule; during site turn-ups, shifts include 10-hour days, six days a week.

The ideal candidate brings experience with OTDR, fiber diagnostics, and cabling work across Cat5/Cat6, splicing, and L1 tasks.

Qualifications

• Intermediate level experience with fiber cabling and testing.
• Experience working with OTDR and fiber validation/auditing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support fiber validation, auditing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Operate OTDR and fiber testing equipment to verify link performance.
• Install and splice cables (Cat5/Cat6) and document results.
• Assist on-site during turn-ups and support on-call schedule.

*Hours:*

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The role includes a rotating on-call schedule. During site turn-up's, the schedule shifts to 10-hour days, 6 days per week.

*Pay and Benefits *

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
