Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our nationwide client base. You will work in the field on a variety of fiber projects, from OTDR testing to fusion splicing, with a focus on quality and reliability.

As a 1099 contractor, you will be paid hourly on-site, with travel pay within an ~80‑mile radius. You’ll engage in multiple environments, from retail to data centers, and help identify and resolve impairments across critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Own standard fiber optic and telecom tools.
• Field-ready for travel across territory.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic and technical tasks including fusion/splicing.
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and jumper replacement.
• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode cabling.
• Document test results and splicing records; support project deliverables.
