Job summary

Metronet in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a motivated Fiber Technician to install and service high-speed internet for residential and business customers. You’ll work from the fiber terminal to the customer premises, performing installations, disconnects and service changes with professionalism.

You’ll troubleshoot, educate customers on Metronet products, and contribute to meeting key performance metrics. The role requires physical ability to work in attics, climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with a telecom / fiber company preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to kneel or stand for long periods.
• Able to work in attics, crawl spaces and adverse weather conditions.
• Climb ladders up to 25 feet with safety equipment.
• Lift up to 75 lbs including ladders.
• Work with basic hand tools and other equipment with training.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle safely.
• Valid driver's license / driving record.
• Willingness to work as a team and independently.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to CPE.
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
• Be professional with customers and fellow associates.
• Work towards meeting key performance metrics.
• Other job-related duties as requested.
