Job summary

Orbitel Communications is seeking a Fiber Technician for on-site work in Maricopa, AZ. The role focuses on splicing and maintaining fiber networks for broadband customers in homes and businesses. There is an emphasis on delivering an outstanding customer experience and uptime.

The candidate should have at least 5 years of fiber experience, be on-call 24-7, and comfortable working in extreme heat and tight spaces. A clean driver's license and fiber optics certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Valid and clean driver's license.
• Ability to prep fibers up to 432ct fiber sheath (all splice types).
• Able to work independently and plan to complete projects.
• Read and build fiber matrix.
• Experienced in using Fusion Splicer, OTDR, Power Meter, Light indicator.
• Troubleshooting fiber technique is essential.
• Willingness to be on-call 24-7 for fiber restoration.
• Work in extreme heat and tight spaces as needed.
• Minimum of 5 years experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Recognized fiber optics certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain broadband system by testing, locate trouble, and repair cables.
• Preserve the integrity of the fiber network for top customer experience.
• Perform fiber splicing and termination for new builds and restorations.
