Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a dedicated Fiber Tech II – Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables for nationwide network projects. You will work on aerial and underground routes, read prints, and ensure high quality splices while following safety guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years’ telecom splicing experience, and proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, and fiber testing equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to drive safely.
• 2+ years of relevant fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Ability to read construction prints and splice diagrams with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication; collaborate with teams and contractors.
• Basic computer skills and use of electronic devices for field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot and isolate fiber faults; document tests and results.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures across aerial and underground routes.
• Perform testing and repairs to restore service and maintain route integrity.
• Coordinate with crews and partners to meet schedules and document field splicing reports.
