Job summary

Network Connex is seeking a field lead for long-haul fiber optic testing nationwide. You will install, maintain, and comprehensively test fiber networks across environments, with a strong emphasis on precision and readiness to travel.

Responsibilities include performing fusion and mechanical splicing, end-to-end testing with OTDRs and power meters, and documenting results. A valid driver's license and CFOT certification are desirable.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on field experience in fiber optics or related telecommunications.
• Experience in long-haul or large-scale backhaul projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and site plans.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and route fiber optic and copper cabling systems across environments.
• Conduct end-to-end testing using OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and VFL to verify performance.
• Repair and maintenance of cables and components; respond to outages and troubleshoot issues.
• Document installations, test results, repairs, and material usage; maintain accurate records.
