Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to perform cable splicing in air, underground, indoors and outdoors across a multi-state Northeast region. The role involves frequent travel, overnight hours, and on-call status for emergency restoration.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years' fiber splicing experience, and proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDR, optical power meters and related tools. A valid license and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in bucket trucks at heights over 30–40 ft
• Proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDR, optical power meters and related tools
• Must be able to distinguish colors
• Experience reading design maps and fiber schematics

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic system
• Prepare and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and equipment
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in racks at central offices or buildings
• Perform fusion splicing as directed with OSP Project Manager
• Read design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs
• Operate aerial lift and related equipment
• Be on-call for emergency restoration
• Maintain organized paperwork and vehicle/tools
• Work safely and follow company policies
• Assist team to complete projects
