Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing Co. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to join our field team in Catlett, Virginia. You will fuse optical fibers and test networks, ensuring reliable communications across aerial and underground installations.

Responsibilities include adhering to safety standards, documenting work, and performing basic vehicle maintenance. A valid driver's license, ability to pass a DOT medical exam, and splicing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in telecommunications.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must pass DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily vehicle maintenance and fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports and map updates.
• Other duties as assigned.
