Job summary

North Sky Communications, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecom networks in the Reno area. You will ensure data travels seamlessly through our expanding network, performing splices and post-installation testing.

The role requires at least two years of fiber splicing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card. Eligible candidates must have valid US work authorization and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of fiber splicing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass DOT medical exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and document work in daily production reports.
