Sunrise Telecom, Inc. seeks a motivated Fiber Splicer 1 to join our telecommunications construction team.

This entry-level position supports experienced splicers with fiber installation, preparation, testing, and maintenance while learning industry standards, safety procedures, and technical skills. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Previous telecommunications, utility, or construction experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of construction or telecommunications preferred but not required.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fiber Splicers with fiber optic cable preparation and splicing
• Learn to perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables
• Assist with OTDR and power meter testing
• Read and interpret basic construction prints and splice diagrams
• Install fiber enclosures, terminals, and related telecommunications equipment
• Support aerial and underground fiber construction crews
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed
• Follow all company safety policies and customer requirements
• Operate hand tools and basic telecommunications equipment safely
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and company vehicles
• Travel to job sites as needed
