Sunrise Telecom, Inc. in Richmond, IN is seeking a Fiber Splicer I to join our telecommunications construction team.

This entry-level role offers hands-on training in fiber installation, preparation, testing, and maintenance while you learn industry standards and safety procedures. You will assist experienced splicers, read basic prints, travel to job sites as needed, operate hand tools safely, and help maintain records and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Prior telecom/utility/construction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fiber Splicers with fiber optic cable preparation and splicing.
• Learn to perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables.
• Assist with OTDR and power meter testing.
• Read and interpret basic construction prints and splice diagrams.
• Install fiber enclosures, terminals, and related telecommunications equipment.
• Support aerial and underground fiber construction crews.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed.
• Follow all company safety policies and customer requirements.
• Operate hand tools and basic telecommunications equipment safely.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and company vehicles.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
