Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build and maintain end-to-end fiber optic networks. You will test, troubleshoot, and ensure high-quality splices while working on outdoor utility sites and in a safety-focused environment.

You should have 3–5 years of fiber splicing experience, be comfortable with ladder or bucket trucks, and be available for overtime. Compensation ranges from $25 to $45 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks.
• Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber networks.
• Operate testing equipment and resolve common fiber issues.
• Prepare fiber splice enclosures (e.g., Tyco, CommScope, Corning).
• Utilize fusion splicer and OTDR (1310/1550) and related tools.
• Apply fiber design knowledge and assess dB loss and light levels.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites.
