Job summary

Texstar Enterprises, LLC is hiring a Fiber Splicer in Texas to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecom network. You’ll perform splicing, testing, activation, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable connections across aerial and underground routes.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, performing vehicle upkeep, and documenting daily production. A valid driver’s license, DOT medical card, and splicing experience are required, with pole climbing certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for the company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card.
• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in telecommunications.
• Pole climber certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records.
• Other duties as assigned.
