Job summary

Primoris Services Corp. is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our Tyler, TX team. You will splice SM/MM fiber, prep cabling, and assemble equipment per design specifications, with duties including live cut-overs during maintenance. A strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork is required.

The role involves 1–3 years of fiber splicing experience, proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDRs, and related tools, and willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed. }

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of fiber splicing and testing.
• Experience with fusion machines and OTDRs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work day/night shifts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of SM/MM outside plant, loose tube, tight buffered, and ribbon fiber.
• Prepare, dress, and store fiber cabling to design specs and assemble equipment accordingly.
• Prepare armored or non-armored cables, ribbons, and mid-sheath applications.
• Conduct live fiber cut-overs during maintenance hours and troubleshoot damaged fiber as needed.
• Read, understand, and update splice documentation and maps as required.
