Future, a Primoris Company, is seeking a fiber splicing technician to perform fusion splicing, cable preparation, and live fiber cut-overs across outdoor plant and inside plant work. The role requires reading splice maps and documenting work, plus the ability to operate fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and VFLs.
Candidates should have 1–3 years of fiber splicing experience, be able to lift up to 75 lbs, work day/night shifts, and be willing to travel or standby as needed.
Responsibilities: Fusion splice SM or MM outside plant loose tube, inside plant tight buffered, and ribbon fiber optic cable Prep, dress, and store fiber optic cabling to specifications and assemble equipment according to design specifications Preparation of armored and non-armored cables, ribbon and loose tube fiber and mid-sheath applications Perform live fiber cut-overs during maintenance hours Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicer, power meter OTDR, VFL and Traffic Identifier Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps as required Perform other duties as required
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
