Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build end-to-end fiber optic networks on outdoor utility sites. You will test, splice, and troubleshoot using OTDR and fusion splicers, working with equipment from Tyco, CommScope, and Corning.

You should have 3–5 years of fiber splicing experience, be safety-minded, and comfortable with ladder or bucket trucks. This full-time role offers overtime opportunities and benefits including 401(k), disability coverage, and health plans.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In Addition, You Will

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and be adept at the resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime

Compensation of $31-$35 per hour.
