A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a Sales Program Manager to drive the sales of dark fiber and conduit leasing products. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies while collaborating with various departments to enhance network capabilities and community development.

There are numerous initiatives across the energy and utility sectors that are driving the need for increased network bandwidth and capacity, such as Grid Modernization, Advanced Meter Infrastructure, and Distribution Automation. To support this increased demand, utilities like BGE are deploying more redundant and resilient communication backbones, primarily through fiber optic technology.
Our customer has developed a strategic initiative that aligns the growing need for fiber deployment with government funding aimed at bridging the digital divide. This initiative not only enhances the 'hardening' of their network and supports community development but also drives financial ROI. At BGE, this is known as the GCC program (Grid Communications & Connectivity), where the utility is installing additional dark fiber and conduit along dedicated paths within their footprint for leasing opportunities.
The fiber construction is underway, with certain sections completed. Our customer now seeks a dedicated Sales Program Manager to focus on the sales of this fiber leasing product while continuing to expand the network. The role involves developing, executing, and managing the end-to-end sales strategy for the dark fiber and conduit leasing business, acting as the bridge between high-level strategy and daily operations.
The position requires collaboration across multiple departments and external stakeholders, including marketing, engineering, legal, finance, and field operations. The Sales Program Manager will serve as the primary external sales interface and will be responsible for:
