Job description

Join to apply for the Fiber Sales Program Manager role at TEKsystems.

There are numerous initiatives across the energy/utility sectors driving the need for increased network bandwidth and capacity, such as Grid Modernization, Advanced Meter Infrastructure, and Distribution Automation. To support this increased demand, many utilities are deploying a more redundant and resilient backbone for device communication across their networks, primarily through the deployment of dark fiber.

This company has developed a strategic initiative that aligns the growing need for fiber with government funding to support the "digital divide." This approach aims to strengthen the network, support the community, and generate financial ROI.

The fiber construction is underway, with some sections completed. We need a dedicated resource to join the team, focusing mainly on sales of this product while continuing to expand the network. The Sales Program Manager for the Grid Communications and Connectivity (GCC) program will develop, execute, and manage the end-to-end sales strategy for the company's dark fiber and conduit leasing business. This role bridges high-level strategy and daily execution, overseeing lead generation, customer engagement, sales operations, and post-sale coordination to drive revenue and operational readiness across telecom, government, and enterprise segments.

This highly cross-functional role requires collaboration with marketing, engineering, legal, finance, and field operations to align customer needs with GCC capabilities. The individual will also serve as the primary sales interface for external customer and partner engagements.

Responsibilities include:
  • Developing and executing sales strategies and managing the full sales lifecycle.
  • Defining account targeting strategies and managing sales pipelines.
  • Tracking sales activities and reporting using internal tools, with potential CRM adoption.
  • Engaging with customers, partners, and representing GCC at industry events.
  • Supporting sales operations through marketing collaboration, process establishment, and tool evaluation.
  • Working with leadership to evaluate sales effectiveness and market opportunities.
Skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or related field; MBA or technical background preferred.
  • 5–8 years in B2B sales or business development, preferably in telecom, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
Compensation and benefits:

The pay range is $72.00 - $95.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, and PTO.

Workplace and application details:

This is a hybrid role in Baltimore, MD, with an application deadline of June 18, 2025.
