Job summary

Coyote Underground LLC is seeking a Fiber Blowing Technician to support large-scale fiber optic network installations throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states. Qualifications

  • Prior fiber installation experience preferred (training available for the right candidate).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to track footage and maintain documentation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in underground utility construction, fiber placement, or telecommunications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fiber blowing equipment to install fiber optic cable.
  • Monitor air pressure, tension, and cable feed during installation.
  • Assist with conduit verification and preparation.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of blockages or conduit obstructions.
  • Coordinate with drill crews and plow crews to confirm pathways.
  • Maintain accurate footage tracking and production logs.
  • Protect fiber integrity during handling and installation.
  • Maintain and inspect blowing equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and jobsite procedures.

This position plays a critical role in delivering high-speed broadband infrastructure to rural communities. We are looking for someone detail-oriented, safety-driven, and committed to doing clean, professional work.

Position Overview

The Fiber Blowing Technician is responsible for installing fiber optic cable into underground conduit systems using specialized blowing equipment. This role requires technical awareness, problem-solving skills, and strong communication with crews in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate fiber blowing equipment to install fiber optic cable
  • Monitor air pressure, tension, and cable feed during installation
  • Assist with conduit verification and preparation
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of blockages or conduit obstructions
  • Coordinate with drill crews and plow crews to confirm pathways
