Job summary

Fiber Network Services is seeking a skilled Fiber Construction Supervisor to lead Roanoke, VA field operations, managing construction coordinators, crews, and subcontractors. You will ensure on-schedule, on-budget project delivery to exact engineering specs while enforcing safety standards.

The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction with strong leadership, decision-making, and administrative skills to keep production moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Deep understanding of FTTH, middle-mile, or long-haul network topologies.
• Ability to read splicing matrices, OTDR traces, and light meter readings.
• Proficiency with construction tracking apps and project management tools (Procore, Vitruvi, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for aerial and underground fiber construction, including directional drilling and cable placement.
• Supervise in-house crews and subcontractors, set targets, monitor workflow, and resolve field conflicts.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency restorations and rapid deployments.
• Ensure QA/QC through pre-construction inspections, final walkthroughs, and accurate as-builts.
