Job summary
Prysmian Group in Kentucky is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the manufacturing of optical fiber. You will develop and maintain PLC programs to control production equipment and support systems.
You will work with plant technical staff to troubleshoot daily issues, assist with commissioning of new equipment, and ensure backups per plant standards while adhering to safety and ISO 45001/ISO 14001 guidelines.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
- Experience with programming Rockwell, Schneider, and/or Siemens PLCs.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience with fiber optic manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC programs for production equipment.
- Provide automation support for optical fiber manufacturing.
- Collaborate with technical staff to resolve daily production issues.
- Assist commissioning of new production equipment.
- Back up all programs and critical files per plant standards.
- Follow safety procedures and ISO 45001/ISO 14001 guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
