Job summary

SubCom in Newington, NH seeks a Tradesperson Class 1 (packaging) in the Filters department to support high-reliability fiber Bragg gratings production for subsea telecoms. You will handle fiber, perform mechanical assembly and inspection, and assist with splicing while interpreting technical specifications.

You will train peers, troubleshoot production issues with engineering, and help maintain quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in fiber handling and inspection.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and work instructions.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and fiber optic splicing.

Responsibilities

• Supports day-to-day operation of one or more work stations with minimal supervision.
• Packaging Room T1 maintains qualification in fiber handling/inspection and splicing.
• Trains peers on one or more processes.
• Troubleshoots production problems with engineering support.
• Meets quality and delivery thresholds for the workstation.
• Supports Lean Daily Management and continuous improvement.
• Follows verbal and written instructions; overtime may be required.
