Engineers support the system during each stage of development to drive timely completion of crucial construction milestones.
The FOCS spans multiple submarine platforms and interconnects over twenty (20) different subsystems on each. To coordinate many unique interfaces on this scale, exceptional communication and organizational skills are a must-have. Additionally, the fiber-optic team is Electric Boat’s Fiber-Optic Center of Excellence providing general fiber-optic expertise for the company.
This position will require the engineer to perform technology investigations, write white papers, review/approve drawings, resolve construction issues, identify/manage risks, recognize opportunities for cost reduction, track/evaluate requirements and manage various projects.
