Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Telecommunication Technician for a contract role in Jersey City. The candidate will install, test, maintain and repair fiber optic infrastructure to ensure high network reliability, with emphasis on fiber splicing and troubleshooting.

You will perform OTDR testing, fusion splicing, fiber termination, and support Ethernet/IP/Sonet transmission, while documenting results and coordinating with internal teams for installations and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with OTDR testing and interpreting OTDR traces.
• Experience with fusion splicing, fiber termination, and fiber troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic networks.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, IP, and SONET transmission networks.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read fiber network diagrams, maintain testing documentation, and work independently.
• Experience working in data center, telecom, or enterprise network environments is highly preferred.
