Job summary

Conexon is seeking a Field Technician in Milton, FL to install, maintain, and repair FTTX broadband and voice services, and to support inventory and field operations.

You will install aerial or buried service drops, perform tests with fusion splicers and OTDRs, and help ensure service reliability across the territory. This role requires physical work, safety awareness, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Proficient PC and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to work remotely with limited supervision.
• Physically able to lift 100 pounds.
• Ability to climb poles up to 25 feet.

Responsibilities

• Install FTTX broadband service for residents and businesses.
• Restore customer services after trouble tickets.
• Complete interior and exterior fiber and ethernet cabling.
• Document and track inventory movements.
• Coordinate with field personnel to maintain inventory levels.
• Assist with feeder construction progress.
• Update customer equipment records.
• Follow documented procedures and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Installs, maintains, and repairs customer FTTX broadband and voice services. Completes quality control functions for other installation technicians in the assigned area. Responsible for maintaining inventory between technicians and warehouses throughout the territory. Typically installs aerial and/or buried service drop cabling, ONTs, network interface devices (NID), and performs wiring for new or existing FTTX broadband, voice, and Special Circuit subscriber services.

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties

• Installing FTTX broadband service to residential and commercial customers
• Assures customer services are restored after trouble ticket dispatch
• Completing both interior and exterior cabling of fiber optic and category ethernet cables
• Documenting assignment of inventory within inventory system
• Track progress of feeder construction
• Communicate with field personnel to assure inventory levels are sufficient
• Reconciling inventory
• Updating equipment associated with customers
• Documenting process and procedure
• Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to walk long distances on a regular basis
• Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to X pounds
• Ability to bend stoop kneel Crouch or reach as required by job tasks etc.
